All programs require registration.

Mother/Daughter Book Club

Mondays at 6 PM
Ages 9 and up

Meeting Dates: November 6, December 4

Grab your mom or favorite female adult. This club reads one selection a month. After reading the book at home, the group will meet at the library to talk about the book and complete an activity.

Dog Reading

 

Books and Barks

Tuesdays in October between 3:30 and 5:00 PM
Ages 6 years and up

Come to the library to read to a Nationally Certified Therapy dog and his/her owner. Children sign-up for a twenty minute reading time slot for 4 sessions. Make a reading selection and practice reading it at home. This program is designed for all readers to help build fluency in a fun environment.

Read the book Wonder, by R.J. Palacio, on your own. Then join a group from the library to watch the movie at Showplace 16 on November 21st. Meet with Miss Stacey after the movie to discuss!


Hooked on Reading

 

Hooked on Reading – Read-to-Me Club

For parents and their children ages 2 to 5

Designed for busy parents and their children ages 2-5. Pick up a book log at the library; read 20 books with your child; complete and return the book log. Your child posts his/her name on the Read-To-Me bulletin board and receives a small prize of his/her choice. Turn in book logs up to three times for three prizes by the end of November.


kindergarten1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

Getting Started: Pick up a free 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Reading Log at the Cherry Valley Public Library and start reading. Track Your Reading: Each time you read a book with your child, record it in their reading log. Show Us Your Reading Logs: Each time you and your child reach a 100 book milestone, bring in their reading log and collect your sticker.

Read 1,000 books before kindergarten and your child will receive a free book of his/her very own.
