Scarecrows on Parade! Adopt a Scarecrow!

Adopt a Scarecrow

Crow about Cherry Valley with the 5th annual Scarecrows on Parade event sponsored by the Friends of the Library. The library has 60 scarecrows waiting to be adopted, decorated, and displayed up and down E. State Street and Mill Road.

There are two sponsorship categories: Businesses/Schools ($25) and
Individuals/Families/Scout Troops/Service Organizations ($15). The optional theme is “Occupations”. Stop by the library now to fill out an adoption form, check out a scarecrow, get your lamp post assignment, and then get creative! Decorated scarecrows should be up and ready for votes by September 25.

Scarecrow viewers are encouraged to vote for their favorite scarecrows at $1 per vote. Vote as many times as you would like at the library and other selected Cherry Valley businesses. Votes will be tallied and the winners ($25 grand prize in each sponsorship category plus other judges’ awards) will be announced at the village’s Halloween parade on October 28. Be a part of this festive fall tradition in downtown Cherry Valley!
